Charles P. (Rocky) Rothschild is best known in these parts for his confession to the murder of merchant Charles Drake in Jefferson in 1956. His admission two years later freed from prison James Foster, a South Carolina house painter who had been convicted by a Jackson County jury for the crime and sentenced to die.
