AG clears Hall planning commissioners of open meeting violation — but appears to rely on county’s findings, not independent inquiry

In an Oct. 27 letter, the Attorney General's Office cleared three planning commissioners of violating the state's Open Meetings Act after a county resident filed a complaint alleging that they held a private meeting.
The Georgia Attorney General’s Office says it “does not appear” that several Hall County planning commissioners committed an open meeting violation — but the AG appeared to rely on the county’s findings instead of conducting its own investigation.
