The late civil rights icon John Lewis is honored Thursday, July 17, 2025, in downtown Gainesville with a "Good Trouble" rally in Roosevelt Square. The event is organized by Indivisible Hall, a nonpartisan political group formed to resist the policies of President Donald Trump. The rally began at Roosevelt Square with readings of Lewis and other civil rights leaders, followed by a march across the pedestrian bridge over Jesse Jewell Parkway, with candles and songs of unity.
