The annual Empty Bowl Lunch, supporting the Georgia Mountains Food Bank will be held Friday at Lanier Tech's Ramsey Conference Center from 11:30 until 1, with the program beginning at noon. More than a thousand attendees are expected, and a few tickets are still available.
The Georgia Mountains Food Bank collects and distributes surplus food and grocery products to distribution agencies serving families in several north Georgia counties. Since it's founding in 2008, the GMFB has distributed over 93 million meals, including 8.5 million in 2025.
Highlights of the event will include:
· Recognition of outstanding volunteers through the Phillip Bond Sartain Individual Volunteer of the Year and James A. Walters Corporate Volunteer of the Year awards
· Honoring the 2025 Mike Banks Reflections of the Heart recipient
· Honoring the 2025 Agency Partner of the Year award
· A live auction led by North Georgia’s favorite auctioneer, Doug Carter, featuring hand-painted bowls inspired by icons from sports, entertainment, and local leadership, including:

o Atlanta Falcons Quarterback Kurt Cousins, Wide Receiver Drake London and Running Back Bijan Robinson
o Dr. Betsy Grunch
o Emmylou Harris
o The Oak Ridge Boys
o Dustin Lynch

o 1st Lady of Georgia Marty Kemp
