A Hall County judge sentenced retired St. Simons Island dentist Suzanne Mericle to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 30 years Monday, rejecting her argument that years of alleged domestic abuse and PTSD significantly contributed to the fatal shooting of her boyfriend, 68-year-old James David Barron, at the couple’s Lake Lanier home.
